Company Profile An Australian company, H.M. Metalcraft was established in 1993 by Hermann Mahler to specialise in architectural design roofing and facade cladding systems. Bringing extensive experience from Europe, the company formed in response to a need from architects, who were designing buildings needing durability, practicality and superior quality in workmanship and visual appearance. Having grown to a medium sized business in 1998, H.M. Metalcraft has now over twenty full-time employees and a multitude of specialised contractors to provide work Australia-wide. Staff with experience in quality metals are sourced from Europe and Australian workers are trained in-house to develop skills to international standards. |
To cater for the call for precision pre-fabrication, a workshop was established in the Yarra Valley in 1995. This expanded to a factory in 1998 with electronically controlled cutting, bending and forming equipment to tailor for all design possibilities. Strong relationships with international material suppliers have been built to provide a unique quality service. Quality materials used include titanium zinc, copper and stainless steel. Work has been in demand Australia wide, including: the titanium zinc cladding and roofing for the Chancellors Building of the Queensland University, the Air Traffic Control Tower in Darwin, Darling Harbour Waterfront Development in conjunction with ARC, several projects for the University of Melbourne, the façade cladding of the new City Square project level 8/13 (West Inn Hotel), a new copper roof for the Scotch College chapel, architectural internal wall cladding made from zinc at Melbourne's County Court (the picture on zinc in the entry hall is 60 meters long and 3 meters high), Federation Square Melbourne appr.18,500 m² of roofing (to extended thermal and acoustic specifications) and wall cladding from zinc, National Gallery of Victoria St Kilda Rd. roofing and gutters to extended noise reduction standards, MLC zinc façade, Victoria University new School of Law zinc façade cladding, Vic-Roads Hallam By-Pass project zinc and aluminium cladding for Road Bridges, Royal Australian College of Surgeons aluminium and zinc wall cladding and several domestic projects for zinc and copper wall cladding in the Melbourne suburbs of South Yarra, Kew and Toorak. |
